Our story

Well, in all honesty, it started by Selma having enough of working for someone else and watch Eminas talent go to waste. Emina was living lavish in Mexico and she was stuck in Uk. But it was all worth it because we always dreamed about having a tropical little restaurant with flamingos,sombreros and lots of tropical bits. Fast-foward to today we managed to do it and can not wait to show you Eminas crazy passion for cooking. With a mix of Eminas love for Mexican dishes and CRAZY Selma' cocktail skills we hope you will love our tropical paradise. Now sit back, relax and enjoy all our dishes and drinks.

Amazing restaurant and host (Selma) that caters for a wide range of guests. We visited the restaurant with our three small children (7,4,1 years old). The kids loved the decor and the atmosphere and also enjoyed the fun non alcoholic cocktails! The food is some of the best we have ever had and cocktails out of this world..... Would recommend it to everyone looking for a fun night out with the family or friends !

Me and my boyfriend tried Selminas for the first time recently and we loved it. We were greeted by very friendly staff as we walked in and the decor is so fun and colourful. We both had the halloumi sizzler and it was absolutely delicious, hot and nicely presented. The chef asked us if we were enjoying the meal and she was really friendly also. After our meal we sat in the outdoor area, which had a fun relaxed vibe, continuing the colourful theme from inside. An evening at Selminas feels like a little exotic getaway right in the middle of Coventry. Also there was the fun addition of sombrero hats at each table! We can’t wait to come back

I have been here quite a few times and have never reviewed it. This latest visit me and my partner ordered the Mr Sujukkah burger and the ribeye steak. Both had lots of flavour and were cooked perfectly. I don't know what it was, but the sauce with the steak was amazing. My partner had the steak medium rare and it was spot on and the burger was very juicy. Even the salad was nice, with a great dressing. The staff are really friendly, but you can sometimes have a little bit of a wait for food if its busy. I think its only really an issue if you hate the peoples company you are with though... We will definitely return, i went to chiquitos recently which was not even worth a review...

The food was absolutely incredible and is definitely one of the best mexican restaurants around. Everything was tasty and had something for everyone. The staff were delightful and made many recommendations and couldn't have been friendlier (they even gave us a free gift after paying the bill). The only thing to bear in mind is the food takes slightly longer to arrive than average, but it is definitely worth the wait as everything is being cooked to order. Cannot fault this place at all, especially considering I feel that I got great value for money. Will be going back very soon.

Booking Policy

Please note that all our bookings are subject to a time restriction:

Tables up to 2 guest have a duration of 1 and half hours.
Tables for 4+ people have a duration of 2 hours.
Tables for 12+ people have a duration of 2 and half hours.

We have a 15 minute grace period.
Please call us if you are running later than 15 minutes after your booked time.

Please be advised that there may be a slight delay during busy periods of up to 15 minutes for your table reservation.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that we are doing everything we can to minimize wait times.Thank you for your understanding.
Please note that our dress code is smart casual. Sportswear, beachwear, shorts and baseball caps are not allowed.

We do not take reservations for drinks and all bookings are for a full dining experience.
